The mystery of where the Farscape miniseries will air has been answered! From Sci-Fi Wire [archive.org]:

SCI FI announced it will be bringing back Farscape with an all-new miniseries — called Farscape: Peacekeeper War — slated to air in the fourth quarter of this year.

WTF? OK, it’s not the last place I’d expect – that would be Fox, or maybe Lifetime – but the Sci Fi Channel has spent the last year and a half distancing itself from Farscape, and a good chunk of that trying to move away from actual science fiction. I guess Dune must have done better than Scare Tactics.

Hmm, it might be worth getting cable again.

Congratulations to the Farscape cast and crew! We’ll be watching!

  1. Could be. One of the theories about why the Farscape people hadn’t made any official announcements before (just lots of broad hints and unofficial leaks) was that they were waiting for Sci Fi’s distribution rights to expire so that they could shop around for another network.

  2. Okay, so it’s embarrassing when your mother comments on your blog, but…it’s Farscape!

We still have no clue why we ended up with Frellin’ SlyLie for the broadcast, but, check out henson.com or farscape.com (which is Henson’s Farscape site) for a very nice announcement about “Farscape: Peacekeeper War,” and a little info about the mini.

(But I caution those who haven’t seen all four seasons to avoid clicking on the “More miniseries details” link, since it does mention some plot points from the end of season 4…. Get someone to e-mail you the spoiler-safe parts!)

  3. Okay, I lied…. The really spoiler-ish blurb isn’t included in the write-up on those sites (though I’m SURE it was yesterday), it’s just in the post Henson put up on the message boards at watchfarscape.com.
