by Kelson Vibber and Suzanne Clegern
Kelson wrote the odd-numbered lines in each stanza; Suzanne wrote the even-numbered ones.
A grapefruit’s rather like an orange
But pink, if it’s from Texas
Still, fruit flies are infectious
No matter where they’re from.
Malathion’s not much fun
Especially at a party
The taste is not too hearty
On the whole or as a crumb.
Behold the greatest pumpkin
But please remember this:
A Swiss is just a Swiss
A pie is still a pie.
Tetrameter’s such fun to use
I hate to see this end;
But messages we have to send
And miles to go before we sleep.
