Ah, gotcha. I finally had a chance to try hitting reload on the Mac after the test loaded correctly. So on the Mac, it loads correctly the first time, but not on reload. :???:

Actually, Acid2 worked perfectly after a ~2-second delay on my Mac (PowerBook running Leopard), during which it continued to display the animated loading icon. I didn't need to hit reload. It acted just like it was taking a little time to finish loading external resources. It makes sense, since that's the line that tests object fallback. It's probably waiting for the 404 response before painting the eyes.

As for hitting reload on Windows, I could swear I'd tried it and it didn't make a difference, but I'll have to wait a bit before I have a chance to try it again.

It couldn't be a processor issue, could it? With it broken on Intel, but not on PowerPC?

Acid2 is broken on both Mac and Windows. Hit reload once you load the test.

"when it’s really busy, it seems to revert to a standard window frame instead of its own skin" - I wish it would do that all the time; I think the OS X skin looks awful under Windows.
