I haven't watched the extras yet, but on Friday someone asked Peter Woodward whether he had read the Techno-Mage novels, and whether they had helped him with the character. He responded that it was hard to read about a character you had played, almost like looking at another version of yourself who isn't quite the same, so they hadn't helped him.

Eerie. My wife and I also watched this last night and had pretty much the same reaction. "Over Here" would have been a great B-story integrated with something else, and "Over There" did a good enough job on its own. I'm not sure though that these two stories would have worked well integrated together.

Of the extras, I really enjoyed the Peter Woodward/JMS segment. It's painfully obvious to me that Peter really likes his Galen character, and as much as he complains that he doesn't know the details of Galen, I think he relishes the fact he has to invent and interpret what he does not understand.
