Vintage always is a winner. Luckily we have a number of vintage clothing places here in Cape Town South Africa. Wish I was closer to them, though. I live in a small town about two hours away from the city. So, I can't always get there to find new stuff.

With the 70s and 80s back in style, I just loving vintage clothing from the thrift shops. You can find designers like Chanel and Armani for cheap there. Ebay is great too!

[...] We met up with our friend Wayne after the Dark Crystal panel, and went out to dinner at Masala, a new Indian restaurant on 5th Street. It appears to have replaced Octopus Garden, since it’s next to Rockin’ Baja Lobster, but looking at that photo, I’m not 100% certain it’s the same building. Anyway, great food once again. [...]

I just found a photo gallery of 2003 Comic-Con costumes which includes the infamous duct tape girl (on page 1 and page 7): Agent Sakur9 Comic-Con 2003 Cosplayers [link updated]. There's 20 pages of photos there, of lots of different costumes!

Le sigh. Missed so many people. I ended up going with a friend on Sunday, and meeting up with a couple others while there. Hit a few booths (Bloodfire Studios, SighCo Graphics, CBLDF, misc. others because I am really not well-versed in most of the comic world though I do have several web comics on RSS feeds to my LJ, including Sluggy); went to the Third Angel reading by Neil Gaiman on Saturday night; saw the Rock Lobster/Octopus Garden thing, and thank you for helping me see what was odd.

Good Riff & Gwynn costumes!

Hopefully, I'll catch you both there next year.
