An attachment of type application/octet-stream, named Shortcut to Die_Terrorists_Die_VCD[1].mpg.lnk was defanged.

In retrospect, I think it’s more likely to be a clueless sender attaching the shortcut instead of the file. I just can’t see a virus writer using “Shortcut to” as part of the filename.

True. That would actually be creative (as opposed to destructive).
