The "Citizen Kang" episode took place during the 1996 US Presidential election. The two aliens replaced Bill Clinton and Bob Dole, and despite the fact that they were exposed before the election, Kang won...because no one was willing to vote for a third-party candidate. It ends with the population of Earth being forced to build a giant laser cannon or something, and in response to someone complaining, Homer says, "Don't blame me, I voted For Kodos."
