I&#039;ve been thinking about the trilogy since seeing the third movie, and it occurs to me that the Wachowskis may not have intended to preach at all, but rather to offer either commentary or interpretation of Christianity.

It&#039;s just as likely that they did some superficial research and threw a bunch of ideas together with no clever intentions underlying their decisions.  I&#039;ll have to think about it more, and it may not be worth the effort or the research into the various mythologies they&#039;ve referenced...

But I mean, the Oracle/Satan is a protagonist and the Architect/God is an antagonist.  I&#039;m thinking Morpheus is the serpent, since he offers the red pill / fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. . .

No real interpretation here yet.  More parallels to consider, connect.  Better things to do in the meanwhile...</description>
