I’ve complained about people not reading the page they’re on before they fire off an email or fill out a contact form (and dealt with it here as well), but this is just pathetic…

Look if people read BEFORE they acted, I wouldn’t have to put instructions in my manuals and on the web.

Seems to me that expecting people to read in this day and age might be a bit much. I’ve found that people don’t listen, either.

I’ve received more than a few messages on my answering machine that aren’t directed to me. Now, unlike many people, I use my name in my outgoing message. So why, when my message says “You’ve reached Brian,” do they leave messages (sometimes urgent, sometimes rude) for John, or Mary, or Bob? The worst was a doctor’s office who was trying to tell someone that their appointment had been cancelled. The caller didn’t leave a name or number, and I even tried *69, but that didn’t work, so whoever it was never found out that her appointment was cancelled. I felt pretty bad about that one, but what could I do?

I wonder what these people are doing while my outgoing message is playing. Are they talking to someone else? Are they just not paying attention? I guess everyone is just too busy too pay attention these days.
